- Writing: A 60-minute test with two tasks - Task 1 and Task 2. Task 1 varies between the Academic and General Training versions. For Academic it's Report Writing and for GT it's Letter Writing.
- Speaking: A face-to-face interview with an examiner, divided into three parts - introduction, long turn (cue card), and discussion. Duration: 11-14 Minutes
- Each section is scored on a band scale of 0 to 9.
- The overall band score is the average of the four section scores, rounded to the nearest half-band.
- The total test time is 2 hours and 45 minutes.
- IELTS scores are generally valid for two years.
